Blue chip companies look to Sheffield at leading event show
Hundreds of delegates will get the chance to find out more about Sheffield’s unique and award winning conference and events offer at a leading industry show.
Sheffield International Venues will be profiling its diverse portfolio of facilities at the 2010 Square Meal Event Exhibition in London.
City Hall Sheffield, Ponds Forge Sheffield and Don Valley Sheffield are just some of the leading venues that make up the SIV Events brand, which boasts one of the widest choices of event spaces in the UK.
Now in its sixth year, Square Meal’s Venues and Events exhibition returns to Old Billingsgate in the heart of the capital on September 22 and 23.
Targeting major blue chip corporate event organisers based in London and the South East, it is set to attract four floors of exhibitors and more than 250 venues and event suppliers.
Dominic Stokes, SIV’s new General Manager of Events, winner of the Personality of the Year prize at Insider’s Yorkshire Business Tourism Awards 2010, said: “Square Meal is a must attend event for Sheffield in terms of selling our facilities to major London based buyers.
“In the last financial year, SIV's events were responsible for fuelling significant investment back into South Yorkshire’s business economy, highlighting the crucial role that events have to play in increasing tourism to the region.
“Confex 2010 and the Conference and Hospitality Show, which we attended earlier this year, were both really successful and we look forward to showcasing our unique portfolio to delegates in London and the South East.”
SIV Conferencing and Events is shortlisted for the Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Award for Business Tourism 2010 and Sports Personality of the Year, held at SIV’s Motorpoint Arena, is shortlisted in the Tourism Event of the Year 2010.
The company also secured the Customer Service Excellence Award at the Sheffield Business Awards 2009 and has been shortlisted in the Customer Focus category at the National Business Awards 2010.
Dominic, along with members of the Yorkshire South team, will be at stand J50 to discuss event requirements for conferences, banquets and exhibitions.
