The Plunkett Foundation was set up to help rural communities take control of the issues affecting them through community-ownership. They held their national conference at Sheffield City Hall for their local food programme which supports community food enterprises across England.

Why Sheffield City Hall?

The Plunkett Foundation Conference Organisers found Sheffield to be a vibrant city and City Hall provided the perfect backdrop to their event. Unlike most venues they had seen which had a static corporate feel - City Hall was unique, smart and with its own identity.

Were There Any Challenges?

Due to the nature of the event, the main challenge that faced the organisers was finding a venue that would provide locally sourced food.

How Did The Venue Respond?

Prior to the event, the organisers met with Sheffield City Hall's head chef who is passionate about local food. He was able to offer the finest quality local food which all attendees enjoyed.
