The University of Sheffield's School of Modern Languages and Linguistics (SOMLAL) hosted their annual ball at Sheffield City Hall in May 2011 for over 250 guests.
Why Sheffield City Hall:
The department decided on the venue because the Ballroom provided the perfect event space, the staff were supportive and based on previous experience, they found the catering of a very high standard.
Feedback from guests:
Feedback from guests was extremely positive. The committees for the next academic year were so impressed that they are almost certain to return to City Hall for the SOMLAL Ball 2012.
Overall Verdict:
"Particular thanks to Glenn (Sheffield City Hall's Catering Manager), he really went the extra mile; including everything from our European Union theme to very helpful and friendly bar staff. It was a perfect evening. I received constantly good reviews throughout the night and in the weeks that followed the ball.
We could not have asked for anything more. The staff were excellent, the food was delicious, the venue looked outstanding and the whole night was an unmitigated success. Special thanks to Glenn and of course to all the staff involved on the night."
